The Gippsland Plains Rail Trail Committee of Management were appointed almost 20 years ago to construct and manage 67 kilometres of unused railway land stretching from Traralgon to Stratford. The trail is in the final stages of connecting the Regional Centre of Traralgon to 6 small communities along the trail to Stratford. This trail will bring tourism and economic development to the area and trail users can catch public transport at either end of the trail which will be a unique attraction to the region.
